Drye wins N.H. House seat on fourth try

On her fourth attempt to win a seat in the New Hampshire House, Republican Margaret Drye, of Plainfield, defeated Democrat Jason Bourne, of Cornish, 3,603-3,438, in the race to represent the five towns in the newly drawn Sullivan 7 House District.
Drye won in Charlestown, 985-815; Newport, 1,341-949; and Unity, 401-232, while Bourne came out on top in Cornish, 543-404; and Plainfield, 899-472.
Bourne, 52, the director of technology at Kimball Union Academy made his first run for statewide office. Drye, 64, who has been on the rescue squad in Plainfield, ran unsuccessfully in a special election in 2017, as well as in 2018 and 2020.
