CORNISH — Challenger Dillon Gallagher defeated longtime Selectboard Chairman John Hammond in Australian ballot voting at Cornish Town Meeting on Tuesday.
Gallagher, a house builder, won the seat with 111 votes to 71 for Hammond.
Hammond was first elected to the Selectboard in 2006 when he won a three-way race to succeed outgoing Selectman Bill Gallagher, Dillon Gallagher’s father.
