CONCORD — Concord Post 21 nearly gave up a six-run lead as quickly as it was earned, eventually settling down for a 14-9 win over Lebanon Post 22 at Memorial Field on Thursday night in the senior New Hampshire American Legion baseball season opener for both teams.

Post 21 (1-0) sent 12 batters to the plate in a six-run second inning to take the game’s first lead. Lebanon (0-1) came right back with five in the top of the third, with Dominic Nutting, Jackson Horne, Owen Taylor and Josh Bucci all driving in runs.

The hosts settled down from there, scoring twice in the home third and three times in the fourth to stay in control. Casey Graham had two of Post 22’s seven hits, including a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth. Braeden Falzarano took the loss on the mound.

Lebanon opens its home schedule on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Lebanon High, hosting a doubleheader against Sweeney Post.
