Bourne will face Drye for Sullivan County House seat

Democrat Jason Bourne, of Cornish, easily won the Democratic nomination for the Sullivan County District 7 House seat.
The district includes Charlestown, Cornish, Newport, Plainfield and Unity.
Bourne, 52, making his first run for state office, defeated Larry Flint, 72, of Newport, 992-295 in the five-town district. He won by large margins in his hometown, 240-14, and bordering Plainfield, 405-22, while also beating Flint in Charlestown, 179-52, and Unity, 36-33.
Flint, 76, a former recreation director who ran unsuccessfully for the House in 2020 and 2018, won in Newport, 174-132.
Bourne, the director of technology at Kimball Union Academy, will face Republican Margaret Drye in the Nov. 8 general election.
