LEBANON — A little hitting, a little luck and a little largesse set the Lebanon Post 22 American Legion senior baseball team on its way to a doubleheader split with Laconia Post 1 on Saturday.

Post 22 produced a six-run second inning to set the table for a 9-2 win to kick off the twinbill at Lebanon High School. Laconia got its game in order enough to post a 5-4 win in the nightcap for the split.

After going down in order to open the first game, Lebanon (2-5) sent 11 batters to the plate in the second inning for a quick 6-0 lead. Jordan Chappell, Wes Stocken and Zack Howland all had hits for Post 22, which also took advantage of three Laconia errors, a walk, a hit batter and sacrifices from Micah McGinley-Smith and Braeden Falzarano in the big frame.

Stocken rode the support to the opening game win, limiting the visitors to four hits in a complete-game effort. The rising senior also had two hits, walked twice and scored twice. Hayden Chandler also had two runs for Post 22.

Laconia (3-2) went down early in game two but rallied for the victory with a three-run fifth and two-run sixth to erase a 4-0 deficit. Lebanon was held to five hits, two coming from Stocken. Harper Flint took the loss for Post 22.
